I had mixed feelings about Jim leaving - I was happy he came to spend time with me and we grew close again, but I was kinda glad to have my bed back - that queen gets really small with 2 humans and 2 dogs :) Love ya honey!
So - the cold weather from Missouri and Arizona followed me to Texas. Honestly, I think I'm a jinx. I came south for the winter to avoid the cold, but I keep finding myself in jeans, sweatshirts and jackets!
The first weekend in Dallas, the puppies and I went for a visit across Lake Ray Hubbard, to the Harbor. Cute place with shopping, restaurants and a lighthouse. It would be hoppin' in warmer weather, but on this particular day, it was windy and cold...we made the best of it!
Wednesday, March 1st, I was supposed to fly to Boston for some client visits but on Monday February 27th, my flight was already cancelled - why you ask??? Ice and snow in Dallas - jeez - that's Chicago weather I was trying to avoid!!!
Fell on my hinny 3 times over those few days - I was not happy! Then Friday comes a long and just like that - gone. The dogs and I took advantage of the warm weather. I installed the last 2 roof vent covers, walked around by the lake and wore shorts!!
My 2 day trip to Boston was rescheduled and I had a VERY sweet lady, Jill, come take care of the dogs in the camper while I was gone. They LOVED her, she sent me pictures every day. I could just see how well they were doing and Kylee was actually eating the first day. Such a relief. - I want to go back to Boston, I fell in love with the city.
The 2nd picture is taken from the office of one of my clients, such a pretty view.
I met a few other co-workers from the Boston office. I can't believe I didn't take any pictures
of them, nor any of those from Dallas - yikes!
I put my tourist hat on one weekend. Went to Grapevine, an old yet cool looking town.
The log cabin was moved from 4 miles away to the center of town.
Did the whole downtown Dallas, including the site where JFK was shot. They have big "X"s on the street marking each shot - the question still remains - from which direction did they come from?
I forgot, I did get a picture of a co-worker, not from in the office, but at the gun range! Tamara and I went shooting a few times. The owner is an ex-secret service and man, did he teach us how to use a gun. I still hear him yelling in my ear "If you don't stop pointing that gun at my ceiling, I'm going to kick you off my range"; "Get your finger off that trigger unless you are pointing it down range"; "Is that how I told you to lay down your gun? If the bad guy was coming, he'd get you before you flip it back over"; "Keep your gun close while loading it, he can grab that out of your hand holding it out there like that". All good things to remember!
Oh, can't believe I forgot:
- Tornado warnings and Jax, Kylee and I spent 45 minutes in the Activity Center, locked in the men's shower stall that smelled loke urine until it passed! Crazy, crazy weather and crazy, crazy men who pee in the shower!!
- Sunset with Dallas skyline looking across Lake Ray Hubbard
- Moon with 2 planets (Jupiter closest to the moon and Venus down below, on the right)
My stay in Dallas was at Lake Shore RV park LakeShore RV Resort :: New Campground on Lake Ray Hubbard, Garland, Texas, had a great stay., level spots, great activity center, showers, pool, hot tub, laundry room and great staff.
While playing games with Conner and Sydney via Facetime, at one point, I had set down my glasses to get something and Conner took a screen shot. He said it looked just like welcome page of my blog...weird! Another funny thing - Conner wondered why I didn't give him credit for the naming of my site. Conner honey - go back to the 1st post - you got the credit hahaha!
Leaving Dallas on March 9th and headed to Knoxville to see the boys!
