Bye-Bye Illinois!!
I officially left Illinois on October 16th! Phew, no more high property taxes and all the other crazy stuff the state has going on. The RV and car are still titled in Illinois and I'm keeping an Illinois address for the time being, but everything else is not my problem anymore!
Hi Mom!!
Missouri was unseasonably cold while I was there, so the puppies and I stayed in the house with Mom and she proceeded to spoiled me!!! She was making me lunch while I worked, doing most of my laundry and had the best snacks and cookies...it's gonna be hard to leave!!
I stayed in my old bedroom, which faces east and I saw the most beautiful sunrises! I don't remember getting up early enough to see those while I still lived at home! Haha...zzzzzz.
Drinking coffee on the pier, enjoying 63 acres of nature and pure peacefulness.
And even though it snowed, the beauty continued on
It was hard work, enjoying nature at its best, being taken care of by mom, doing little projects around the house and working remote. But it was time for a spa day and a long massage at Golden Valley Serenity Spa (webs.com). So very nice!
My brother Allen, his wife Joyce and their youngest son Simon came out to visit and played card games. It was nice to catch up and laugh with family. Simon is so tall!!!
Dancing
Thursday is "dancin' day". Mom and her friend Sharon rarely miss dancing at the Elk's Lodge in Warsaw. I was finally able to join her. What a hoot! It was so much fun watching these young folks dancing around all afternoon. 92 year old Jonny even taught me how to do the 2-step. I messed up a lot, my two left feet kept getting in the way, but he was patient and such a trooper! Bless his heart! You gotta watch the quick 18 second video, I'm such a horrible dancer! Mom and the other ladies loved line dancing too! The band members are all volunteers and they donate all proceeds to charity!
November 16 came up really quick and it was time to head west for Thanksgiving. One last dinner out before I go. My sister Val came down from Belton a day early to say good-bye. It was great spending time with Mom, Val and Allen. All will be missed and always loved.
I'm headed west, off into the sunset!
